References and Bibliographies

Annotated Bibliographies

An annotation is a summary and/or evaluation. A bibliography is a list of sources (books, journals, websites, periodicals, etc.) used for researching a topic. So, an annotated bibliography includes a summary and/or evaluation of each of the sources.
An annotated bibliography is an excellent way to collect citations and take notes -- while you're researching!
Just collecting sources for a bibliography is useful, but when you write annotations for each source, you read each source more carefully and critically instead of just collecting information.
