Planning for Receptions and Events
Security
For events and exhibition openings open to the public, you are responsible for coordinating with the Library Director and the Director of Campus Safety and Security (security@cooper.edu) in advance. The correspondences should include the event’s dates, hours, and a list of expected guests. The cost for security is approximately $281.20, with a minimum of 4 hours.
All Guests are expected to provide valid ID.
Registrations
The Library can create event registration via LibCal. If this option is taken, the registration must require a First, Last name, and email address. The event registration list can be exported and shared with Thomas Tresselt and security at the front desk.
Catering
Events may include complimentary refreshments (cheese, crackers, pastries, fruit/ vegetables, candy, etc). If you are getting food, request trash cans and do not leave a mess after your opening.

Alcoholic Beverages
According to The Cooper Union Policy on Serving Alcohol at Campus Events, no alcohol is permitted at student events or opening receptions.
