Step 2. Identify Keywords

Try to consolidate your question into keywords. Keywords are small, distinct concepts that, when combined, describe something complex. Pulling out the nouns from your question is a good way to start developing keywords.

Note that keywords may be described with more than one word–this type of keyword is sometimes called a keyphrase. When more than one word (especially for proper nouns) use quotation marks to search for the phrase exactly.

 

Example: How does  microgravity  impair astronauts'  diet  on the  International Space Station ?

 

Concept 1 Concept 2 Concept 3
Microgravity Diet "International Space Station"*

 

 

*Note that keywords may be described with more than one word. This type of keyword is sometimes called a phrase. When your keyword is more than one word (especially for proper nouns) use quotation marks to search for the phrase exactly how you've written it.
