The Department of IT provides a wide range of technologies and tools for teaching, both on campus and remotely. Microsoft Teams is our primary digital platform for education; however, some faculty members prefer to use Moodle. Below, you'll find resources for both.
A Teams Classroom is a collection of conversations, files, and tools located in one application. Class teams have unique permissions and features for teachers and students. As owners of the team, teachers assign work, share class content, start meetings, and control who can post in the team. Each class team is also linked to its own OneNote Class Notebook.

Moodle is commonly referred to as a Learning Management System (LMS). It is a learning platform designed to provide educators and learners with a single robust, secure, and integrated system to create personalized learning environments. At Cooper Union, Moodle provides a central space on the web where students can access a set of tools, resources, and course materials anytime and anywhere. The most common tools and resources are syllabi, weekly topics, assignments, quizzes, and discussion forums.

Books, textbooks, or other library items for your course can be placed on reserve, providing alternative access to course materials that may be supplemental, expensive, difficult to obtain, or in high demand. Course Reserved is located behind the circulation desk and can only be retrieved by asking at the circulation desk.
Course Reserve items can be placed in Library-Use Only or checked out by students for a limited time. Physical items in course reserve can be checked out for 4 hours. After 4 p.m., they can be kept overnight and are due back by 11 a.m. the following morning. Due to high demand, reserve materials may not be renewed.
ebooks, journal articles (on JSTOR and ProQuest), and digital items can be added to Course Reserve. To see a list of the books, book sections or chapters, or other materials on reserve for your course, you can click on the "Course Reserves" link located in the main search box on the library's homepage.
Student should search the professor's name (e.g., Peter Cooper), the course name (e.g., History of Pop Art), or the course code (e.g., HTA-310).
