Arthur Lee's thesis is the library exhibition Archive for Loisaida, a project that celebrates and continues Loisaida’s—or the Lower East Side’s—history of grassroots activism. Arthur collaborated with faculty, neighborhood leaders, and the library to organize the Archive for Loisaida exhibition, which celebrates the history of grassroots activism in Cooper Union's adjacent neighborhood, the Lower East Side.

Archive for Loisaida exhibits Cooper Union students' engagement in the Lower East Side from the 70s to the present.  It ranges from Karen Bermann’s AR'81 involvement in the wind turbine project in 519 E 11th St. in 1978 to Paul Garrin’s A'82 work during the Tompkins Square Park riots of the 90s. The includes the work of Cooper Union students in the Lower East Side; the living institutions in the Lower East Side that continue the work since the 70s today through maps, screenprints, and brochures; and zines and publications from the Lower East Side in parallel with Cooper Union students’ writing as seen in the Cooper Pioneer.

Arthur Lee's research is in collaboration with the Loisaida Community Center and Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS). Archive for Loisaida ultimately embodied Arthur's aspirations to connect Cooper with our local grassroots institutions.
